Definition

What it is

Analytics counts what happens in your app: page views, visitors, where they came from, and custom events like "signed up" or "created first project".

The useful part is answering specific questions: how many visitors sign up? Where in onboarding do people quit? Which feature is never used? Decide your questions first, then track the events that answer them.

A funnel shows how many people make it through each step of a flow.

How to ask for it

Vague

“I want to know how it's doing.”

Precise

“Track analytics events for "signed up", "created first project", and "invited a teammate", and show a simple funnel of visitors → sign-ups → first project → invite for the last 30 days.”

Why it works

"How it's doing" has no measure; naming the analytics events and funnel turns curiosity into a dashboard.
