File storage
Where an app keeps files like photos, PDFs, and videos, separate from its database records.
What it is
File storage holds actual files: profile pictures, uploaded receipts, generated reports. The database usually stores just a link to each file, plus details like who uploaded it.
When you ask for uploads, say what file types are allowed, the maximum size, and who can see the files. "Private, only the uploader and admins" is very different from "public, anyone with the link".
A CDN (content delivery network) serves files quickly from servers close to each visitor.
How to ask for it
“Let people add their receipts.”
“Let users upload receipts as images or PDFs up to 10 MB to private file storage. Show an upload progress bar and a thumbnail preview, and only the uploader and admins can view each file.”
"Add receipts" leaves type, size, and privacy open; naming file storage with limits and access rules covers what matters.
