User profile
The information an app keeps about each person, like name, photo, and preferences, and the page to edit it.
What it is
A user profile is the record of a person in your app beyond their sign-in: display name, avatar, job title, time zone, notification preferences, plan.
Decide which fields you need on day one (often just a name) and which can wait. Each required field at sign-up is a reason to leave.
The profile page is usually where people change these, while sensitive things like email address go through a verification step.
How to ask for it
“People should have a page for their info.”
“Add a user profile with display name (required), avatar (optional, defaults to initials), and time zone. Add a Profile page in Settings to edit them, with changes saved instantly.”
"A page for their info" doesn't say what info; the prompt lists each profile field, what's required, and the defaults.
